DSM-5 Now Available in Digital Format

The South College library now has access to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) Library through the Psychiatry Online website from the American Psychiatric Association.

The package includes electronic access to the DSM, Fifth Edition (DSM-5); DSM, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR); DSM-5 Clinical Cases; DSM-5 Handbook of Differential Diagnosis; DSM-5 Handbook on the Cultural Formulation Interview; and the Spanish-language GuÍa De Consulta De Los Criterios Diagnósticos Del DSM-5.

AccessMedicine Adds New Open Access COVID-19 Resource

McGraw Hill has added the title COVID-19 & the Heart: A Case-Based Pocket Guide to AccessMedicine.

According to McGraw Hill, this title is open access, which means that it is available to all visitors to AccessMedicine regardless of whether an institution has a subscription to AccessMedicine.

McGraw Hill describes the book as a "manual to guide medical practitioners in making adequate and quick clinical judgements with respect to the cardiac manifestations of COVID-19."

Digital Literacy: Skills for Navigating a Digital World

The digital environment is like a universe of its own, and those who engage in its territories should educate themselves about its rules and its lack thereof. In this world where people and their ideas interact, it is important to use technology responsibly, respectfully, and critically. Most of us encounter information in its digital form regularly on the internet, in our coursework, jobs, and through social media. Through technology, information is stored and shared. Some of this permissionless access is inadvertent while other access is intentional and malicious.
