Information Literacy

This is a learning guide designed to teach students about information literacy and why it matters.

Data, Information, and Knowledge

Data refers to collected facts and figures. But data by itself is just data. The real goal is to turn data into information. Data becomes information when it’s presented in a context so that it can answer a question or support decision making. When this information is combined with knowledge (insight from experience and expertise) stronger decisions can be made.
