Information Literacy

This is a learning guide designed to teach students about information literacy and why it matters.

Finding Information

Information is all around us. Information sources include our environment, family, friends, classmates, teachers, managers, co-workers, community leaders, social media, internet, news outlets, maps, books, magazines, and databases. Information comes in a variety of formats both informally and formally, through spoken words, in print, and digitally. The type of information source that is best depends upon your information need.  For academic assignments look for information through the South College library website, Google Scholar, and credible websites.
