Each library and resource center has laptops that are available for student use. Laptops are for on-campus use only. Laptops can be checked out for four hours at a time. Your South College ID card is required to check out a laptop. The first time you check out a laptop you will need to sign a laptop agreement form.
Library materials from one location can be delivered to another campus location by searching the title in the Library Search and using the Place Request option. Materials checked out can be returned to any South College campus library or resource center.
Students may place a hold on books and videos in the library collection. Speak to a library staff member to place a book, or video on hold. Students may renew items for one additional loan period unless the items have been put on hold by another library patron.
Overdue notices for library materials will be emailed to students one day after the due date of the materials.
Daily fines are not charged on overdue materials.
Student with overdue items that have not been returned will be billed on the 15th of the month after the item became overdue. For example, a book that became overdue in May will be billed on June 15th.
Please note: Students cannot graduate with any outstanding, overdue or unpaid materials on their records. Former or transfer students with any outstanding overdue or unpaid materials still on their records may have their transcripts held.
Please be kind to your fellow students and your librarians by returning your materials on time!
The library is eager to get your recommendations and requests for new material to be added to our collection. You may suggest books (no textbook requests please), ebooks, journals, or other scholarly sources. We value your input in our collection development! To request materials, complete the Student Materials Request form (see link).
