Library Chat
Have a question about a database or need help researching a topic? Contact a librarian using the library chat! The “Ask a Librarian” button can be found across the library website on research guides, program guides, and in the Discover Search. Chat is a great way for off campus (and on!) students to ask questions and get live responses from a South College librarian.
In addition to the live chat, you can also text and receive responses on your phone or send the library an email. South College librarians and staff monitor the live chat to assist students with resources and research. When the chat is closed after hours, you can submit a ticket and receive a response when the library reopens.
Did you know?
Library Orientation Completion Certificate
Have you taken the library orientation for one of your courses? Starting Spring Quarter 2021, you can now download a certificate when you complete the library orientation. Courses are available for:
Asheville Library Orientation
Atlanta Library Orientation
Knoxville Libraries Orientation
Nashville Library Orientation
Online Library Orientation
At the start of the orientation, provide your name so it will appear on your completion certificate at the end. You can download your certificate to provide to your instructors as proof that you have taken the library orientation.
Resource Highlight: Swank
Some South College courses require students to watch and review feature films. The library provides access to many of these movie titles using Swank Digital Campus, a streaming video database. Need to write a report on 12 Angry Men, John Wick, or The King’s Speech? Look for direct links to stream these films and more through the library. Check out Swank Digital Campus.
