Did You Know? New Year, New Homepage

Just in time for a new year, the library has a new homepage! After faculty and student feedback on our design, we have rolled out a new, simplified look that highlights the library’s single search box approach to finding resources.  Use the library search box as the starting point for your and your students’ research. Individual database and journal links, as well as ebooks and videos are still available on the homepage under the Resources tab. Program Guides and other guide links are all housed under the Guides tab.

Check out our updated library tutorials for a quick walkthrough of the new look. You can choose from several short YouTube series:

New! PrepSTEP for Colleges & Universities
The library has added a new resource for all programs called PrepSTEP for Colleges & Universities. PrepSTEP is a dynamic online platform that can assist students in academic success and preparation for many occupational licensing exams for the programs offered at South College. In addition to college prep, it includes career prep materials and certification practice for graduating students including Praxis, NCLEX, TEAS, and PANCE prep, among many others.

PrepSTEP Learning Centers for South College students include:

  • Core Math and Science Skills
  • Core English Skills
  • College Success Skills
  • Career Preparation
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Grad School Admissions Preparation
  • Placement Test Preparation
  • Spanish Center (Recursos Para Hispanohablantes)

February Library Webinar

Hyperdrive Your Courses: Integrating the Library in Canvas
Did you know you can include library subscription content directly in your Canvas courses? While this is primarily done with library-provided hyperlinks to videos and ebooks purchased for specific courses, just about any library webpage or resource can be added in Canvas. You can also use a Canvas tool to pull library webpages and database links directly into your courses. Join Jonathon Hudson, our Electronic Resources Librarian, for a webinar on integrating library resources in your Canvas courses on February 2nd at 10:30am EST.  Unable to attend live?  The recording will be provided to all registrants.

Register in advance for this meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
